Doing something for the day

Moving slowly and quite happy into my new year. Ah birthdays. Mostly i say nothing, head into the woods and am grateful and think about all that's happened in the year past. This year though, i chose a birthday fit for a ten year old. Celebrated a few days early. Got into nature on a nice little morning hike, with a picnic lunch, nothing strenuous like we've been hiking the last few weeks, but beautiful.

Then to the Jelly Belly factory. A short hour drive outside of San Francisco, a company that actually manufactures amazing tasting jelly beans that are vegan. Now i feel as though i should be telling you about the csa we joined where we get the most amazing local organic produce. But no. For my birthday it was all about the refined sugar. The factory lot was full of RV's and people on vacation, stopping for a tour, a destination of the road.

And what better way to top off a ten years old birthday then to hop on your bicycle and bike over to the ball park for a baseball game. The Giants beat the Mets with a beating in the first inning. i was more then happy to find our seats on the first base line and eat my veggie dog (that they sell at the park- whoa wonderful) and my expensive beer. There's something great and somewhat romantic about going to a baseball game.

And so i must say it would have been great to have you there. There's always next year and your birthday as well. Will you show up? Hopefully i'll see you then.
