New Things

i've had plenty to write about and haven't. i was thinking since we bought a power drill to do home projects- that there are those that own a power drill, those that don't and those that borrow them. and in my mind this was an expansive concept that i was going to dedicate an entire blog to.

and then something happened. some friends were expecting a baby. i was on call and designated to dog care and happy to be of service on that day. it was 8:00 am when the phone rang and we were told that the labor had been going on for the last six hours. for those of you uninterested in the birthing process, i will omit all details about cm dilation and transition and the birthing center and the bath that the baby was going to be born in. skip all the details and somehow i go from picking up the dog to driving food and people to the birthing center. from there last minute things are needed and i volunteer to go pick them up. and within the next three hours, i somehow go from errand runner to filming the birth. and please listen to these words and don't take them for their overused meanings, but it was truly amazing and beautiful and incredible. our friend was graceful and natural about the process and we are all happy to welcome this little one into the world. wow. if there's room for one more would you move over?
